February…Hearts Full of Arts…

…and so ours were…last Tuesday night at the Yacht club.   Those who gathered set their palates/pallettes for a taste of sweets (tart & chocolate). We discovered how times have changed and in among the ‘I love you’ and ‘kiss me’ candies was ‘text me’!

To kick us off Michele Casey introduced the Kingston School Of Arts (KSOA) with a history of the organization as she was in on the ground floor eighteen years ago as one of the founding members.

Feb '14 2The highlights of the evening were Barb Carr and Marsha Gormley of the KSOA.

They both shared amazing happenings of this vibrant centre of creativity. We learned of the variety of courses for adults and children….of all ages! Print making, painting, drawing  and workshops.

The newest addition is the Window Gallery which is a dedicated space for exhibitions for many of Kingston finest visual established and emerging young artists. The Organization of Kingston Women Artists and Kingston Printmakers are just a couple of the many group shows.

Marsha told us of their fundraising for both the school and the gallery with the purpose of keeping the school flourishing.
For more information click on the KSOA link….plan to join in and we’ll see you kicking up your heels at the upcoming ‘Scorched but Still Standing’ dance on March 1st.
