Friends, Romans, countrymen/women, lend us your presence (to paraphrase the Bard just a smidge!) as we draw your attention to centre stage…
…at the Kingston Yacht Club for March 10th’s gathering with a Theatre twist.
Carolyn is away…so Michele is
left up to her own devices and will ‘act’ as MC. Come see what the Ides of March deliver.
The Play’s the Thing/Theme with a full house of dynamic theatre folk who will regale the members with highlights and tantalizing theatre tidbits for their upcoming seasons.
On stage will be Brett Christopher, Artistic Producer Theatre Kingston; Katie FlowerSmith Play Reading Committee Chair Domino Theatre with Frances Berry – Costumes (Carolyn is pea green with envy that she’ll miss that!). Tricia Baldwin, Director of the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, Ashlie Corcoran, Artistic Director of The Thousand Islands Playhouse and Mike Shepard, Blue Canoe.
After standing ovations, thunderous applause (and money being thrown…ha!), encore announcements of your events and happenings will bring the curtain down for the evening.
We need to have a Standing Room Only audience to support our colleagues in arts. Our presenters go to a lot of trouble to prepare, and give up their time to come and share information with us. Members & Guests are welcomed PLEASE!
Usual Place: 1 Maitland St, Kingston

Shirley Gibson-Langille will be part of this celebration on Saturday February 14th from 1pm – 4pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 263 Victoria Street. I’ve always enjoyed Shirley’s work and this event should be a lovely way to spend a Wintery afternoon.
I would drop by but I am going to be busy on Saturday too….. and still have some room for one or two more….

Just a gentle reminder that on Tuesday evening I will be flying solo at our gathering and we will have a tech/online evening…doing some exploring and trying to answer some questions.
I asked last week for anyone who has done some of their work on the computer if they would share with us…well, I have Harry Symons who has some work he will share with us. Harry came to Tuesday’s Artists Round Table and talked a lot about working at the Tett in preparation for The Whole Shebang opening…a glimpse behind the scenes!
Harry strung a lot of work at the Tett for the opening and has been a creative part of the Kingston Arts community for the past 9 years.
Well, the Tett had it’s grand opening a week ago with The Whole Shebang. You can check out the CKWS video here: http://youtu.be/ugQk16eUg1A
I got to volunteer and, though I didn’t get to see everything I had a great time meeting folk and guiding them to the different events.
See you all on Tuesday at the KYC. 7pm
Isn’t is strange that we have Love in the middle of the month we like the least…thank heaven it’s short!
Fill your heart with gladness and bring your creativity to the February gathering…same place, same time….for a techie evening. Bring questions, laptops, tablets (iPads and the like) and good old fashioned pen and paper
Michele will be away and the mice will play…together ‘online’ and do some computer art research.
Any members/guests who create computer art or are involved in graphic design, CAD, computer animation…the Arts & Letters would love to have you talk about your medium and enlighten us….walk us through your online gallery of work
February 10th 7pm at the
Kingston Yacht Club
Bring a friend…come and enjoy!

Welcome to 2015… and The Kingston Arts and Letters, Past, Present and Future…
January ‘s meeting theme is about the Club’s past 2 years, in a slideshow format review to recapitulate the many themes and diverse interest covered.
Carolyn and Michele will be stepping down as the duo leaders, in June, with many thanks for your member support over the past 2 years.
Here is a perfect opportunity for ‘we‘ the members to come together to consider the future of the club.
It is time to give the Club a fresh look with your valued input, please. This is YOUR Group to decide how you wish it to function and flourish.
Carolyn and Michele invite your interest and recommendations as to the next directions for 2015/2016 to move the Kingston Arts and Letters Club forward.
Save the date and plan to attend this important gathering.
